HEIR APPARENT TV SHOW
 

Heir Apparent is a reality television show designed to develop a new Leadership, Entrepreneurial and Global Citizenship generation.
•The Heir Apparent Television Reality Show will:
-Inculcate visionary leadership values and embed a democratic culture in the youths of Nigeria; and increase their participation in the democratic political process.
-Tackle the issue of unemployment through constructive engagement of youths in situational management of agricultural farms and food processing; thereby signaling a back-to-land mindset in the youths of Nigeria; and ultimately a stimulus to farming/curb on current high levels of unemployment.
-Entrench the spirit of entrepreneurship.
-Promote diversity and empathy.
-Promote personal discipline/increased recognition of civic responsibilities and the need to protect civil liberties.

MODUS OPERANDI & CALL FOR ENTRIES
 

•Modus Operandi
-Selections: 37 contestants (male and female) shall be pre selected from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. They must be intelligent, resilient, athletic, charismatic young men and women aged 18-30.
-Participants: The 37 participants will be taken through chores and assignments to test them as Complete Heir Apparent, that must demonstrate courage, vision, entrepreneurship, cultural diversity, team building, staying power, mental alertness, intellect, global citizenship, success, business savvy to win the annual title of “The Heir Apparent” at the end of 45 days (Saturday, October 9, 2010 – Tuesday, November 23, 2010).

Eviction

Contestants will no longer be evicted. The ultimate objective of the programme is not to exclude, but to provide a training ground for future visionary, dynamic, responsive, responsible, resourceful and patriotic Nigerian Leaders, equipped to play on the global platform. Accordingly, the 37 contestants will be allowed to participate in all the activities and various tasks assigned them on the basis of which each contestant will be graded cumulatively.

Any contestant who at any point and for whatever reason, desires to withdraw from the programme, will be so allowed. Such a contestant will however be gladly welcomed to witness and possibly participate in some of the planned activities at the Grand Finale.

At the appropriate stage, only the top 10 contestants will be invited to participate in a debate on “If I were the President……” at a Town Hall Meeting while others are relegated to the background. The top 5 at the Town Hall presentations will proceed to a final round of debate on “If I were the President……..”,  at the Grand Finale during which THE HEIR APPARENT and the 1st and 2nd Runners-up will emerge.

Participation at the Grand Finale

Owing to the uncommon and incredible resourcefulness exhibited by each of the contestants, all contestants including the 5 finalists will form the pivot around which activities at the Grand Finale will revolve.

Grand Finale

The Grand Finale comes up on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 6:00 pm at the Merit House, Plot 22, J. T. Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja.
